For the safety of our children, teachers, and staff, WSSD requires visitors to pre-register to enter SRS during the school day. Depending on whether you are attending an event or volunteering, visitors must have their driver’s license scanned or their clearances submitted to WSSD. No clearances or driver’s license are needed for evening events like Back to School Night or conferences. No worries, getting your clearances is really easy!

How do I know if I need my driver’s license scanned or clearances?

SRS has provided a helpful chart to help you understand when you need your driver’s license scanned and when you need clearances.

How do I pre-register to attend an event or participate in an event at SRS?

To pre-register for any event taking place during the school day, please complete the Volunteer Pre-Registration Form. The form should be completed at least 48 hours before the event. To complete the form, you must have already had your driver’s license scanned.

When should I have my driver’s license scanned?

You can have your driver’s license scanned by going to the main office at SRS between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm before you pre-register to attend an event. Once your driver’s license is scanned, you can pre-register for the event by completing the Volunteer Pre-Registration Form.

What clearances do I need to volunteer at SRS?

In brief, all volunteers must submit WSSD Position Volunteer Clearances. These include State Criminal Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and the WSSD Act 24 Volunteer Affirmation Statement. Applicants who have not resided in Pennsylvania for the last 10 consecutive years must complete and submit the three clearances listed above in addition to the FBI Fingerprint Clearance (service code 1KG6XN). TB Test results that are less than 3 months old are required if you volunteer more than 10 hours per week.

How do I submit my clearances to WSSD?

Upload your clearances by filling out this form. WSSD no longer accepts paper copies of clearances.

Do I need to update my clearances periodically?

Yes! Clearances are good for 5 years, so you may need to complete them again when your oldest child is in 4th or 5th grade.
