At our Back to School Movie Night we celebrate the beginning of a new school year with a family friendly show! This event takes place on the basketball court behind SRS, and families are welcome to bring chairs and blankets. Pizza is available to order as a fundraiser for 5th grade, and snacks are available for a donation. Please bring your own water.

Each month, we partner with a local restaurant for Takeout Tuesday! When you order from the featured restaurant on the designated day, a portion of sales comes back to support our Home & School programs. It’s an easy and delicious way to raise funds for student activities and school events, while also showing support for our local businesses.

Friends and neighbors gather for our annual Fall Festival in early October. There is music, food, carnival-style games, a bounce house, face painting, a magic show by Mr. Neuber, and so much more.

Families can also purchase pumpkins and mums to support Home & School programs. Tickets will be available for purchase in mid-September.

Our book fairs bring back the charm of wandering through a bookstore, surrounded by shelves of stories waiting to be discovered. It’s all about sparking a love of reading—the joy of picking out a brand-new book, finding favorite authors, and meeting unforgettable characters. Families can set up a Scholastic eWallet for easy student purchases, and thanks to our Everybody Plays program, Home & School provides scholarships so every child can share in the excitement. If you need financial assistance for an eWallet, please email Dr. Tuck for a special code to use online.

STEAM Night offers a variety of hands-on science, technology, engineering, art and math activities. Huge thanks to Swarthmore College students for their ongoing support and participation.

A favorite SRS tradition, BINGO Night is always a packed house! Join us in the cafeteria at the end of February for an evening of laughter, friendly competition, and big wins. Home & School raises funds through BINGO ticket sales and our ever-popular raffle baskets—each one themed and overflowing with goodies donated by SRS families. Baskets are available for presale, so be sure to grab your tickets early! Plus, the 5th grade will keep everyone fueled with pizza and baked goods, raising money for their end-of-year celebrations. It’s a night the whole family won’t want to miss!

Spring on Tap – Our 5th Annual Fundraiser
Mark your calendars for April 2026! Join us at the Park Avenue Community Center for our biggest event of the year—Spring on Tap, a 21+ evening of food, drinks, music, and unforgettable fun. Dance the night away with our DJ, enjoy dinner and drinks, and take your chances on incredible raffles, including the Philadelphia sports basket, the infamous Wheelbarrow of Cheer, summer camp vouchers, gift cards to local favorites, and trips to Napa, the Jersey Shore, and Rehoboth Beach.

Each year, Home & School provides nearly $100,000 in student enrichment, community events, teacher appreciation, and our Everybody Plays program. A successful Spring on Tap makes all of this possible—so come out, celebrate, and support SRS!
